Prohibited Verticals Definition
Adult Entertainment Businesses (5967) Any cabaret, lounge, night club, modeling studio, or other establishment that offers its customers adult entertainment. Child Pornography (or anything that suggests child pornography, including any website that uses the following terminology to market their product; “lolita”, “paedo,” “preteen,” etc.)
Aircraft Dealers (5099) Engaged in the business of buying, selling or exchanging aircraft
Bearer Shares An equity security wholly owned by the person or entity that holds the physical stock certificate
Blockchain - Crypto (Primary) Cryptocurrency is the Platform's main offering or makes up greater than 10%** of the Platform's total revenue. Example: The Platform offers a cryptocurrency product as their primary source of revenue.
Blockchain - Exchange/Custodian An Exchange is an online trading platform used to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrency for other assets such as other cryptocurrency, digital assets or fiat funds. A Custodian secures the private key that proves an end user owns the funds within a cryptocurrency wallet. Example: The Platform is an exchange or custodian enabling end users to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrency.
Blockchain - Stablecoin Stablecoin is a specific digital currency whose value is pegged to that of another currency, commodity, or financial instrument, such as the U.S. dollar or gold. Example: The Platform buys, sells, or exchanges Stablecoins.
Cashless ATMs Cryptocurrency and/or NFT (Non-Fungible Token) ATMs
Fireworks Sales (5999) Anyone who sells consumer fireworks during a fireworks season as a seasonal retailer
Funds or Loss Recovery Services offered to help consumer recover funds from loss
Gambling Establishments (7801) An establishment with a primary purpose of accommodating the wagering of money

Import/Export Companies Companies importing or exporting goods/commodities to foreign countries
International Online Gambling Gambling via the internet involving foreign jurisdictions or companies
Internet-Based Work From Home Plans or Business Opportunities Services offered to consumers to help form/establish work from home business opportunities
Online Gambling (7995) Any form of online, internet or mobile phone gambling, gaming and betting services
Marijuana (recreational) or Illicit Drugs Any drugs not having an approved medical purpose.
Massage Parlors (not associated with salons/ chiropractic care) (7297) An establishment that provides massage treatments
Nested MSBs/Nested Money Transmitters Nesting refers to the practice of allowing an MSB/Money Transmitter to process and utilize the transaction rails and account approvals of another MSB/Money Transmitter.
Nested Payment Processors A Third-Party Sender that has an agreement with another Third-Party Sender to act on behalf of an Originator, and does not have a direct agreement with the ODFI
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) A digital asset that links ownership to unique physical or digital items, such as works of art, real estate, music, or videos
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Any nonprofit organization that is independent from government
Offers to Only Pay for Shipping Costs Services to entice consumers to try a product/service and pay for shipping only but may include on-going billing for the product/service
Offshore Businesses To register or operate outside of a person's or business' national boundary
Payday Loans Typically, are small dollar, high interest loans payable in two to four weeks (less than 30 days).
Political Campaigns and Political Action Committees A political committee organized for the purpose of raising and spending money to elect and defeat candidates
Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) including their related entities Foreign individuals who are or have been entrusted with a prominent public. Function, as well as to their immediate family members and close associates
Products/Services deemed Illegal by any level of Government Any product or service deemed illegal by any level of government
“Pseudo” Products Pseudo Products refers to fake, mock, simulated or phony products. This would include knock-off products
Pyramid Schemes/Multiple Level Sales/Multilevel Marketing/Ponzi Schemes Business model where investment returns are typically from principals of investments or membership fees instead from the underlying investment gains. Typically, the 1st person recruits additional salespeople under them, and the 1st person gets a percentage of revenue from the sales that those under them (can be multiple layers). Includes multi-level marketing goods, services, and business opportunities.
Services Offering Government Monetary Grants Services offered to help individuals or organizations to obtain government monetary grants
Shell Corporations A company or corporation that exists only on paper and has no office and no employees
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) A special purpose vehicle is an orphan company created to isolate risks and reallocate assets to investors. Property investments are typically held in special property vehicles. Companies can transfer property ownership to an SPV and sell off that entity, paying (lower) capital gains tax instead of property sales tax.
Tax Anticipation Programs A loan made by a lender that is based on and usually repaid by an anticipated federal income tax refund
