Integrating Your Pepper Pay Gateway (FluidPay) Account with Magento
Note: Pepper Pay Gateway is a white-labeled instance of FluidPay. Therefore, the integration plugin in Magento Marketplace will be listed as the "FluidPay Plugin."
Step 1: Confirm Compatibility and Prepare for Integration
- Verify Compatibility: Ensure your Magento version supports the FluidPay Plugin, compatible with Magento 2 for seamless integration.
- Gather Admin Access: Log into both your Pepper Pay Gateway and Magento accounts, ensuring you have admin access for configuration settings and credentials.

- Magento Admin Login: https://yourstoreurl.com/admin (replace yourstoreurl.com with your actual store domain)
Step 2: Install the FluidPay Plugin in Magento
- Go to the Magento Marketplace and search for the FluidPay Plugin.
- Download and Install: Follow Magento's extension installation steps, and place your store in maintenance mode if necessary.
- Clear Cache: After installation, go to System > Cache Management in the Magento admin panel and refresh the cache to activate the plugin fully.
Step 3: Configure Pepper Pay Gateway API Settings in Magento
- In Magento's admin panel, go to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods.
- Locate and Configure the FluidPay Payment Option: Expand the FluidPay settings to configure Pepper Pay Gateway.
- Payment Method: Set this to "Yes" to activate Pepper Pay at checkout.
- Payment Title: Enter a customer-facing name, such as "Credit Card via Pepper Pay."
- Environment Mode: Select "Production" for live transactions or "Sandbox" for testing.
Step 4: Retrieve and Enter Pepper Pay API Credentials
- Log into Pepper Pay Gateway: Access your Pepper Pay Gateway account and retrieve API credentials.
- Access API Key: Navigate to Settings > API Keys and copy your API key for integration.
- Enter API Key in Magento: Paste the API key into the designated field within Magento's FluidPay configuration settings to connect with Pepper Pay.
Step 5: Configure Payment Options and Card Types
- Select Card Types and Payment Action:
- Choose which cards you accept (e.g., Visa, MasterCard).
- Define Payment Action: Select Authorize Only for delayed capture or Authorize and Capture for immediate fund capture
- Enable Secure Storage for Recurring Payments: Use the Customer Vault to securely store customer data, which supports PCI compliance for recurring billing.
Step 6: Customize Front-End Display and Messaging
- Adjust Checkout Display Settings: Customize the title and description at checkout to match your brand's presentation.
- Optional Security Message: Include a brief note on PCI compliance if desired, to reassure customers about secure payment handling.
Step 7: Test the Integration in Sandbox Mode
- Enable Sandbox Mode: Place Magento in test mode or use Pepper Pay's Sandbox credentials to verify transactions.
- Run Test Transactions:
- Confirm successful processing through Pepper Pay.
- Ensure order statuses update correctly in Magento and that receipts are sent as expected to both the store and the customer.
Step 8: Enable Production Mode for Live Transactions
- Switch to Production Mode: After testing is successful, set the environment to Production to start live processing.
- Double-Check Settings: Ensure the API key and payment options are correctly configured for live transactions.
Step 9: Monitor and Reconcile Transactions
- Regularly Review Orders: Monitor that payments through Pepper Pay Gateway are processed accurately.
- Verify Logs and Records: Periodically review transaction logs in both systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
